There are a lot of awards in the auto industry. The North American Car and Utility award? It's one of the big ones. It should serve as no surprise, then, that Hyundai was excited to learn that the 2020 Hyundai Sonata had been nominated as a finalist in the sedan category for this coveted honor.

The first member of the Hyundai lineup to adopt the automaker's new and improved design platform, the 2020 Sonata offers significant improvements across the board, when compared to older models. It's these improvements that caught the eye of the competition's jury. They were understandably impressed with its lower starting price, impressive standard equipment suite, and a rich selection of optional features and upgrades.

Hyundai engineers, understandably, took the nomination as a sign that their hard work is paying off.
